MNJ Technologies CEO Ben Nierberg is back on the Light Reading podcast for predictions about growth in the MPLS/SD-WAN markets.
A recent Avant Communications report shows that over 60% of businesses plan to increase or substantially increase their SDWAN usage this year, and 59% plan on increasing MPLS usage by 2021.
Niernberg also shares his views on these results. He explained that enterprises’ plans to increase SD-WAN use wasn’t surprising to him, since the technology has “well beyond the early adoption phase.”
Niernberg also said that the plan to increase MPLS usage was a positive thing. “We never believed that SD-WAN would end MPLS. MPLS was still in demand and had a place on the market. It is a bit shocking to me that MPLS has reached this level. I would have predicted the market would remain flat. It was not a growth area for me.
Listen to the podcast to hear Niernberg discuss the SD-WAN market and how COVID-19 has impacted customer demand for unified communication services.
